Murray Bridge based trainer, Stephen Theodore, has made a sensational comeback to the training ranks over the past 10 months which has coincided with his use of the Prism platform. After a five-year hiatus, Theodore has hit the ground running with a phenomenal strike-rate of 24% by preparing 37 winners from 153 runners so far this season.
Theodore has racing rich in his blood being the son of 4 time Group 1 winning trainer Les Theodore. On the dam side he is also the grandson of Riverina legendary trainer Bert Honeychurch so no other career really stood a chance! In 2003 Stephen took out his trainers licence and within 12 months he secured his first Group victory with talented galloper Count Riccardo. For the next 15 years he was successfully training in Victoria with 23 top 3 finishes in black-type races and over 300 winners in total.
With a move to South Australia, Stephen found himself in a new role as Racing Manager for fellow Prism subscriber Travis Doudle. This is where he was able to provide a superior level of horse communication to owners and regular video content in stable updates to help grow Travis' brand with Prism. Theodore's move to South Australia also provided him with the opportunity to meet the love of his life Molly Murphy. With Molly's experience of 13 years as a veterinary nurse and 20 years riding in the equestrian world she discovered the thrill of riding trackwork and is heavily involved in running the stable alongside Stephen.
The training facilities at Murray Bridge are first class with Theodore Racing having 22 boxes oncourse, day yards, sand rolls, horse walkers and access to grass, all weather and hill tracks and a swimming pool. It's a complete horse heaven. As a boutique stable the team is very hands-on in all facets and Theodore prides himself on his communication to owners and making them feel part of the family.
Theodore's return to training has been marked by consistent success, and he is eager to keep the momentum going both now and well into the future.
