This time last year Darwin based trainer Chloe Baxter had one horse in her name - a 55 rated 3YO she picked up through a tried horse sale. But now with a stable of six solid carnival contenders on her books she has recently made the switch to Prism for all her owner communications and monthly invoicing needs.
After successfully campaigning during the competitive Darwin carnival with First Crusade last year, Baxter quickly found herself in high demand from owners throughout Australia who were looking to give their horses a change of scenery and utilise her services. With a small but select team she was able to establish herself with one of the best strikes rate out of the local trainers on the back of strong performances over the course of the ‘wet season’ and now, just in time for this year’s carnival, she has built herself a team of six, all of whom are legitimate feature race contenders.
“I could never have imagined that this time last year I would have been able to put together such a competitive team in such a short space of time. I'm absolutely thrilled with our progress and really excited about training each and every one of them.”
Of her six, Baxter has a promising undefeated 3YO, Aplomado, by sire of the moment Pride of Dubai, which she plans to aim at the Darwin Guineas. Recent winning mare, Swing With Junior, will be aimed at the Rose Bowl for fillies and mares, whilst she has options galore with sprinter miler types First Crusade, Del Viento and To The Point.
The latest addition to her stable of He’s The Ultimate, a recent Brisbane metro winner and a genuine Darwin Cup contender, perfectly complements her well rounded team.
“On the back of a strong wet season, we had the opportunity to quickly go to 10 or 12 horses. We have opted for quality over quantity and pride ourselves on the attention to detail we pay to each of our unique and individual horses. Moving over to Prism for all our accounting and owners needs allows us to do just that.”
