Rockhampton based Trainer, Ricky Vale, has recently joined the Prism stable for his owner communications and invoicing.
Ricky grew up around horses with his father being a horse trainer for as long as he can remember. At the ripe old age of 18, Ricky spent 18 months under the tutelage of Peter Moody in Brisbane and worked his way up the ranks quickly to 2IC. Moody then moved his stable to Caulfield and Ricky returned home to help his ill father's training business. Ricky also tried his hand at carpentry for a number of years whilst training a few gallopers on the side until he realised that training thoroughbreds was his real passion.
Vale quickly made a name for himself in Central Queensland by securing tried-horses and getting them back racing to their best, as well as bringing younger horses through their grades with limited opportunities. He's very particular with each horse in the stable and every horse is treated as an individual and training programs tailored to meet their needs. Vale has trained in excess of 250 winners in his career to date and has won 3 North Queensland cups and feature sprint races in the region as well.
One day Vale hopes to train full-time in the big smoke in Brisbane but for now he is happy training winners anywhere!
